Last July, I had my final oral review and celebrated my graduation in Chicago. A fine moment with good friends. Fred Steier, my chair made a very nice introduction. And in my graduation speech, I called upon myself to help develop practices that take us from analysis to feeling, so we can better work with the mystery of differing rhythms. A key challenge in integration and cosmopolitan communication.
Fielding’s summer session also marked the start of the new doctoral concentration in Somatics, Phenomenology, and Communicative Leadership. In this concentration, CMM is reïntegrated in Fielding’s teaching in a way that is close to how IfGIC conceives of integral competence. Valerie Bentz, the concentration chair has worked closely with our colleague Bart Beuchner to make this happen. And the spirit of the certificate course that we are developing ourselves lives in this effort too. I hope that students who choose this dissertation will be able to relate with the work we do at IfGIC as well.
